Too many people have bad habits when it comes to security. It’s important to break these. The best advice out there is to think about security all the time. This way good security becomes habit and the likelihood of experiencing a burglary goes down. Lock your doors every time you leave the house. Never leave doors open even when you are just nipping to bins out back or to the car out front. Opportunism is rife among burglars. You should also get into the habit of locking windows. In order to keep everything locked neatly away, you should improve your locks too. It’s advisable to have as many as three separate locking points on external doors. Always keep valuables and keys out of sight. Break-ins are more likely if burglars know they can get away quickly with something valuable. It’s also important to draw attention to electrical security measures by installing visible alarms or cameras and perhaps using sticker schemes like Neighbourhood Watch.
